SUDDENLY
IT'S 1969!
The
SS-427 and Phase III Camaros are
contemporary executions of Baldwin-Motion classics, with performance
and head-turning-power worthy of the iconic brand.
And, for the first time: A choice of coupe or convertible!

In
the day Joel Rosen's legendary Gen One SS-427 and Phase III Camaros
established Baldwin-Motion as the premier builder of limited-production,
unlimited performance Chevrolet specialty cars. The Motion-built AHRA
& NHRA National Record setting big-block A//MP Camaros, driven by
Joel Rosen, Bill Mitchell and Dennis
Ferrara further enhanced the brand’s reputation.
The
people responsible for the originals that defined an era of excessive
force and the soul-stirring 540 Camaro SuperCoupe -- Joel Ehrenpreis,
Larry Jaworske, Joel Rosen and Marty
Schorr -- have done it again. The latest addition is a pair
of updated, power-packed Baldwin-Motion big-block Camaros that continue
the tradition that started shortly after Chevrolet introduced its first
generation Camaro in 1967.
New for 2006, the 1969 Baldwin-Motion SS-427 and Phase
III Camaros capture the timeless passion and performance of
two of the most sought-after ultra-performance Chevys. They are available
in coupe or convertible models and come standard with air conditioning
and contemporary creature comforts, handling and braking.
Baldwin-Motion
is building a limited number of 450-horsepower SS-427 and 600-horsepower
Phase III Camaro coupes and convertibles in SS (Super Sport), RS (Rally
Sport) or SS/RS trim. Prices start at $169,000 for
the SS-427 Classic and $189,000 for the Phase III 540 Camaro. Warranty
coverage is available.
“My
SS-427 and Phase III Camaros are the spiritual successors to the Baldwin-Motion
big-block Camaros I built in 1969. They will be custom built to order
and showcase unmatched quality, fit, finish and performance. Each
of the serialized vehicles will be performance tested, fully documented
and signed by me. Total production is capped at just 12,”
noted Joel “Mr. Motion” Rosen.
All
Baldwin-Motion Camaros are built using premium-quality 1969 Camaro “donors”,
have original 1969 Chevrolet VIN numbers and can easily be registered
and insured anywhere in the world.
Standard with 450 hp in SS-427 trim and 600 hp in the
Phase III 540, Rosen’s new Camaros deliver peerless performance
and are fully streetable. In the Baldwin-Motion tradition, only the
purchaser’s imagination and finances limit engine size, power
and luxury upgrades.
“If
a buyer is interested in more power, we can supply supercharged or twin-turbo
big-blocks displacing up to 720 cubic inches, rated at 650 to 1,000-plus
horsepower. Baldwin-Motion Camaros are styled to stun and engineered
to run,” said Larry Jaworske, CEO, MOTION, LLC.
After
a successful re-launch of the Baldwin-Motion and Motion brands and winning
the "General Motors Best Design" Award with
the 540 Camaro SuperCoupe at the 2005 SEMA Show, Baldwin-Motion's return
to the marketplace was validated for a second time at Barrett-Jackson.
Collector Ron Pratte paid $486,000 including buyer's premium for the
SuperCoupe at the Scottsdale auction.
"With
restored and documented Baldwin-Motion big-block Phase III Camaros changing
hands at $400,00O and up and buyers willing to pay up to $750,000 for
‘real’ Phase III Corvettes, the demand for genuine
Baldwin-Motion specialty cars has never been greater,"
added Joel Ehrenpreis, President, MOTION, LLC.
IS
THERE A PHASE lV CAMARO IN YOUR FUTURE?
Chevrolet
may be a little late coming to the party, but the proposed new Camaro
has what takes to "spank" the 'Stang and get the Bowtie Brigade
dancin' in the streets!
On
January 13, Jim Mateja, Auto Editor, Chicago Tribune, headlined his
coverage of the Detroit Auto Show, "CAMARO DRIVES OFF WITH
AUTO SHOW BUZZ", FOLLOWED BY "THE CHEVROLET
CAMARO CONCEPT STOLE THE SHOW."
We
at Baldwin-Motion couldn't agree more!
GM's
Director Of Design, Tom Peters, who owns a 1969 Camaro powered by a
ZL-1 engine, truly defined what a modern day production musclecar should
look and run like. The fully functioning Camaro concept, built on an
112-inch wheelbase GTO platform, is powered by a 400-hp LS2 6.0 small-block
hooked up to a six-speed transmission. Like the Baldwin-Motion 540 Camaro
SuperCoupe, it has 14-inch disc brakes all around. Kudos to Peters and
his staff.
According
to GM Vice-Chairman and product guru, Bob Lutz, the production target
is 120 to 150,000 units per year. And GM's Vice-President of Global
Design, Ed Welburn, a 1969 Camaro owner, was also quoted in the Chicago
Tribune, "A convertible is in the works."

Kris
Horton, working with Joel Rosen and Larry Jaworske, penned the prototype
Baldwin-Motion SuperCoupe design, and he’s been feverishly working
on concepts for a limited-production Phase IV version of the next generation
Camaro. Fresh from winning GM's Best Design Award at SEMA for the SuperCoupe,
Horton is one of the hottest young automotive designers around.
"When
Chevrolet builds the next generation Camaro, Baldwin-Motion will be
ready with a Phase IV version available from select Chevrolet dealers.
In the tradition of the original Baldwin-Motion Camaros, the Phase IV
Camaro will be quicker, faster and turn more heads than any new musclecar
from Motown. Like the SuperCoupe, I'll sign each one," said Joel
'Mr. Motion' Rosen.
BALDWIN-MOTION,
THE LEGEND LIVES!
The
ultimate performance car icon of the Supercar Sixties
and Seventies, the BALDWIN-MOTION big-block Camaro,
returns for a limited engagement.
Joel
Rosen and Marty Schorr, the people responsible
for the ground-pounding, take-no-prisoners 1967-1974 SS and Phase
III 427 & 454 Chevrolet Camaro, Nova, Chevelle and Corvette supercars,
are re-launching the Baldwin-Motion and Motion brands...and a new,
cutting edge 1969 Camaro! The Launch Edition of the new Baldwin-Motion
Camaro SuperCoupe, powered by a 700-plus horsepower fuel-injected,
all-aluminum 540-cubic-inch Merlin/Motion big-block, began at the
SEMA Show in November, 2005.
Baldwin-Motion
big-block Camaros set the standard for street performance and left
their marks in the NHRA and AHRA
drag racing record books during the peak of Detroit's Ponycar/Supercar
era. Today, legitimate examples are mega-valued and highly coveted
by top Musclecar collectors. A restored and fully documented (late-production)
1969 Phase III 454 Camaro recently changed hands for $400,000. The
Motion King Cobra race car, built by Joel Rosen, brought $525,000
at the Russo & Steele auction in Scottsdale, AZ in January 2005!
"Our
new Camaro taps into the heritage, horsepower and high energy
of our original 1967-1969 Baldwin-Motion big-block Camaros, plus showcases
highly sophisticated styling, modern technology and a proprietary
powertrain, tubular chassis and four-wheel independent suspension.
It is an eye-popping, high-velocity, air-conditioned road warrior
that will deliver racetrack levels of performance,” said Joel
Rosen.
"To
turn my dream into reality, I'm working with top stylist/designer,
Kris Horton, legendary engine builder, Bill
Mitchell who built original Baldwin-Motion supercars at Motion
Performance and built and drove our record-setting 1968 Motion Supercar
Club A/MP Camaro race car, and Phil Somers, one of the top Musclecar coachbuilders
in the country."
"Since each new Baldwin-Motion Camaro will be built to order,
there will be a full menu of luxury and performance options for purchasers
to choose from, including 'boosted' engines to 1,000 horsepower. Bragging
rights are standard," added Rosen.

The car
was unveiled in the Sony Xplod booth at SEMA,
November 2005
